For some reason I like mash-up songs and videos, but only when they’re done well. They can take two good songs and make a good derivative work, such as the Metallica-Stevie Wonder video below.

They also can take a good song and mix it with a bad one to make something that is better than the original works, as seen in this video that mixes Slipknot with Justin Bieber and the one that mixes Lady Gaga with a cheesy but good Judas Priest song.

But they seem to be at their best when they take bad songs, mix them with other bad songs, and somehow have a result that proves the axiom that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts, as seen when a lousy Biggie song was mixed with Miley Cyrus.
