I’ve long despised Joe Paterno, with his non-coaching of the team he’s paid by the state of Pennsylvania to coach, and the fact that he ended the rivalry with Pitt by refusing to play them in the late 80s. But covering up child abuse by his good friend in the Penn State facilities takes things to a new low. Now, he’s refusing to speak to the press (not surprising), and I doubt we’ll ever truly learn just how much he knew.
JoePa has kept his job, while they fired the mascot for being drunk in public. So remember kids, covering up your former defensive coordinator molesting a kid in the showers is OK, but drinking is bad! I suggest they adopt a new mascot at Penn State, because this will be far more appropriate than a Nittany Lion.
