This post is a unique cross section of narcissism and nerdism that is of little interest to anyone. So, of course I felt compelled to share it with the world. Enjoy- or don’t. It really doesn’t matter to me.
About 6 months ago, I compiled a list of all the Matt Walkers I could find on Twitter, at which time I was ranked 7th in followers. Check out that list and read about a stupid promise I made that I will be forced to uphold when I become the most popular Matt Walker on Twitter.
Since it’s 6 months later, I figured it’s a good time to see how things have changed. I’m now up to #3 on the list (and will likely overtake #2 in the next few days). I’m hoping that the image at right comes true in the near future. (That image was made by a fan that goes by the name of “Tabitha Schmidt”.)
Here are some nerd stats in case you care. 6 months ago, the average number of followers (from a list of 39 accounts) was 769.4103, and the standard deviation was 1507.703. Now, on a list of 60 accounts, the average number of followers is 664.1695 and the standard deviation is 1424.735. Among those accounts that appear on both lists (38), the average increase in followers is 170.5263, a difference of 32.67%, and the standard deviation on the increase is 657.6324. My account grew by the greatest number of users and greatest percentage, so I at least have the most rapidly increasing list of followers.
